Follow these steps to locate your missing smartphone or tablet
For iPhone or iPad:
- From any computer, go to icloud.com and log in with your Apple ID and password.
- Click Find My iPhone.
- It may take a minute, but as long as your device is on and attached to a network, you’ll see its location on the map.
- Click the green circle that represents your device, then click the “I” icon.
- Click “Play Sound” and an alert will sound on the device even if it’s set to mute.
- Once you find your device, you can turn the alarm off.
For Android smartphone or tablet:
- From any computer, log on to android.com/devicemanager with your Gmail account information.
- It may take a minute, but as long as your device is on and attached to a network, you’ll see its approximate location.
- Click “Ring” and an alarm will sound on the device.
- Even if your device is on mute, the alarm will be audible.
- Once you find your device, you can turn the alarm off.
